About the Job

Thank you for your interest in joining our team for the 2026 season!

The primary duties of the Northern Wasco County Parks and Recreation District Lifeguard include lifeguarding, cleaning, and other facility upkeep tasks. Lifeguards are expected to display excellent public relations and follow District policies and procedures to ensure safe, fun, and efficient administration of the District’s aquatic program.

The aquatics season spans from late-May 2026 to early-September 2026. Lifeguards are expected to be available for a minimum of two 6-hour shifts per week, with opportunities for time off.

Lifeguard certification is not required to apply! Candidates who receive employment offers will be invited to attend a lifeguard certification class at the Northern Wasco County Aquatic Center.

Pay Rate

The current Lifeguard rate is $16.00/hour to $19.00/hour. Starting rates are determined by experience.

June 15 - June 18, 2026 | Lifeguard certification class (at Northern Wasco County Aquatic Center)

Front Desk/Concessions Worker

The Northern Wasco County Parks and Recreation District Front Desk/Concessions Worker is responsible for direct customer relations between the public and the Northern Wasco County Aquatic Center. Staff in this position are responsible for attending to the front desk and concession stand and performing a variety of customer service duties including swimmer admission, merchandise and food sales, and providing responses to public inquiry.

The aquatics season spans from late-May 2026 to early-September 2026. Front Desk/Concessions Workers are expected to be available for a minimum two 6-hour shifts per week, with opportunities for time off.

Applicants who receive a final job offer must obtain an Oregon Food Handlers Card before starting work.
